Minor anger issues just don't cut it in Rumplestiltskin

In this version of the Rumplestiltskin (an "I can read it myself" or some-such-nonsense book), the ending is nearly the same as the Grimm except that when he pulls his leg, it overextends and rips his own body in two and dies. Why not remove the stomping of the foot altogether, if it isn't an actual device to destroy the villain?
